Op ( thrift) shop donation alternatives!
Don’t like the mark up value on op shops in the city?
Feel like it’s just not the same making a donation anymore ?
Don’t feel your donation is going to those in need?
I thought that too until I found there still is an alternative where you can make donations of clothing that are sent all over Australia remotely to be sold and given to people in need. Most of these communities are indigenous Australians in need .
Below is a list of OpShop partners in some of the most remote places across the country.
Simply gather your preloved items, choose an OpShop and send away.
I recommend using 5kg Australia Post bags, stuff them full, tape them if you need to!
Most opshops in very remote areas receive mail via a small plane. 5kg bags fit on the plane and are easy to manage.
The opshops are community owned and run and proceeds go into community projects. Another way we can show our support!
