A Merit Book
Writing. May my relatives receive the merit from this deed. May they easily cultivate a habit of no short cuts so that they can digest their experiences.
With reference to a merit book, some people use a book to record the deeds they do so that on their death bed it can be read to them so that they have an elated heart.
I’ve noticed that some Taoist also utilize such a record.
Useful to have for a funeral when the monk(s) are preparing a eulogy to recollect the past deeds of the deceased. Also, such stories can remind you to increase your percentage of wholesome behaviors everyday so you too can reach Nibbana or use your personal deeds to uplift you when you need it.
